Community Classes
Our regular classes offer an opportunity to learn and experience the rich traditions of West African inspired ensemble music within a supportive and welcoming community environment.
Drawing on the rhythms and structures of the Malinké Djembe and Dunun traditions, classes combine musical skill development with the social and relational benefits of making music together. You will learn traditional rhythms, techniques, and ensemble arrangements while exploring how rhythm can support connection, focus, communication, creativity, and wellbeing.
Whether you are completely new to drumming or have previous musical experience, classes are designed to be accessible, engaging, and rewarding. Alongside learning the language of West African percussion, you will be invited to experience the unique sense of community that emerges when people listen, collaborate, and create together through rhythm.
